We need your help!

The Wild Bird Trust raises funds from individual donors, charitable foundations, corporations, private organizations, civic clubs, and other groups with an interest in conserving birds in the wild. You can either make a donation specifically for a project, or alternatively make a donation for use across any of the projects.

Donations via PayFast – Preferred Method (International or Local):

We have partnered with PayFast to facilitate payments from South African bank accounts and local as well as international credit cards. When making a donation the only information you will be asked for is an e-mail address and password (very simple registration, no drawn out registration process) and your payment method details.

How your donations help?

Your donations do help and we pride ourselves in ensuring that close to 100% of donated monies actually reach the project as our administrative costs are low! Please do consider making a donation, we are able to issue section 18A tax exemption receipts to South African citizens for donations in excess of R500. We will contact you once you have made a donation to ask whether you would like this receipt.

If you live in the US we can arrange for tax exempt grant based donations via the World Parrot Trust – these donations are dedicated to the Cape Parrot Project.

Here are some ideas for a donation:

  • Sponsor a Cape Parrot nest box for R600 per nest box (US$60) and provide a safe home for Cape Parrots
  • Sponsor the planting of an indigenous tree grove R1 000 for 50 trees (US$100) –  In addition to providing habitat for Cape Parrots, you will be leaving a legacy by perpetuating the existence of our national tree.
  • Sponsor a village community project, aimed more at corporate sponsors these donations range from R180,000 (US$18,000) for 2 years to R380,000 (US$38,000) for 5 years.
